The Developer: Dustin Khaleghi
No vision comes to life without leadership, and at the heart of Trancas Malibu is Dustin Khaleghi, founder of DK Development. Dustin’s passion for Malibu, thoughtful design, and long-term vision for building meaningful luxury communities is woven into every inch of this project. On the day of the photo shoot, Dustin joined us on site to walk the property, meet with the creative team, and celebrate the culmination of years of planning, building, and dreaming. Visionaries Behind the Design
Luca Iacovoni
A dual citizen of the U.S. and Italy, Luca brings a depth of global experience and a lofty pedigree from University of Rome “La Sapienza” and KTH Stockholm. With nearly twenty years in luxury residential architecture, especially right here in Malibu, his signature lies in contemporary-Mid-Century Modern structures that feel both architecturally refined and intimately connected to their site. Luca’s architectural vision is not designed to replicate, but to integrate: he says each home in the Trancas Collection is “a different chapter of a wonderful book that will ultimately tell the tale of the Trancas Collection”.
Douglas W. Burdge, AIA
Recognized as Malibu’s signature architect, Doug has shaped over 300 custom homes in the region. Whether Mediterranean villas, modernist bluffs, or even “Rustern”, his coined fusion of rustic + modern, Doug’s creations are rooted in place and characterized by award-winning design and timeless appeal. His work has been honored in Architectural Digest, Robb Report, and earned multiple PCBC Golden Nugget awards.
Nikki (Nicky) Marmet
Los Angeles-native Nikki wove the interior soul of the home. Merging mid-century LA influences with layered textures and curated art, her work seeks a kind of “casual yet sophisticated elegance.” Through custom furniture pieces, art collaborations, and fine-detail curations, Marmet Design made a home that honors its setting while elevating everyday living .
